If you have researched areas that produce big brown bear, you have likely read some information about Cold Bay on the Alaska Peninsula. Our outfitter is a Master Guide and has been outfitting in Alaska for 30+ years. His hunting area takes place on the Alaska Peninsula Wildlife Refuge as well as on some private leased lands. Several clients have taken bear well over the 10’ mark. The outfitter prefers bowhunters in the fall, favoring more opportunities with salmon runs. It is not uncommon to see a dozen bears a day on the fall hunts. Hunters must be in good physical condition. All fall hunts are 11 days, starting early October. Add travel days on both ends to this remote part of Alaska.
