We have a South Island outfitter who is very keen on bowhunting. They have experience with bow hunting clients and have accumulated experience in handling the extra effort needed for a successful bow hunt. South Island hunts are accessed through Christchurch and one species at the top of the list is Red Stag.


These deer are hunted best during March-April when they are vocal during the rut. Antlers of 8x8 are common and larger ones can frequently be seen. A bow hunter can expect high shooting opportunities with this outfitter.
