Anyone researching archery desert sheep will certainly hear about Carmen Island. There are 15 permits a year on the island and they take a limited number of bowhunters. Rates: 10-day 1x1 $75,000 on the island and $65,000 on mainland. Island rams up to 170 7/8”. Hunt rate also includes the $5,800 hunting license, sheep tag, cites permit, state and federal taxes and conservation fee. Trophy rates apply: 171” add $1,000; 172” add $2,000; etc. There is a $950 fee for export papers, trophy prep, and shipment to your taxidermist
