A lifelong outdoorsman, Don has
bowhunted extensively in his home states of Montana and Alaska, throughout the
American West, as well as Africa, Russia, and the South Pacific. He has taken
over three dozen species of big game with his longbow.
He currently serves as co-editor of Traditional Bowhunter magazine and writes a
regular column for Bowhunter Magazine. He also writes about fly-fishing,
wing-shooting, and wildlife for numerous other publications including Gray’s
Sporting Journal, Alaska, Ducks Unlimited, and Pheasants Forever. Don is also
the author of seven books, of which three are specific to bowhunting. His most
recent work is The Double Helix, a record of Don’s first five trips to bowhunt
Africa. No book thus far covers the subject so completely, and the extensive
appendix provides a wealth of practical information. Don’s myriad experiences
make him a tremendous asset to Bowhunting Safari Consultants and we are proud to
have him on our team.
“Having traveled the world for years in search of the best bowhunting
adventures, I can assure you that no one knows the ropes as well as Bowhunting
Safari Consultants.” E. Donnall Thomas - Outdoor writer and bowhunting author.
