1995 was the first time in modern history that the government here allowed
bowhunting. Archery hunting was restricted to plains game species with the
eventual opportunity for dangerous game under study. Botswana is another of the
main sport hunting countries located on the southern part of the continent.
For the first time in modern history, bowhunters will be able to stalk game as
the Bushman have done in places like the Kalahari Desert and the Okavango Delta.
The government of Botswana is politically stable and secure. The country
maintains a strong free enterprise system within it's democratic society. The
warm and friendly people make it a pleasure to visit there. Botswana is one of
the growing number of countries where a U.S. citizen needs only a passport to
enter.
Careful game management has been the rule here and generous numbers of different
species occur in vast numbers. Home to the Red Lechwe, Botswana is magic.
