Turkey is a wonderful part of the world to bowhunt. It is also quite safe to travel in this country. The Muslim law is so strict that crime is very rare. The main area to hunt is within 3-5 hours drive of Antalya (on the Mediterranean Sea). Near Antalya, the big draw is Bezoar ibex and the HUGE Turkish wild boar. You can have a great wild boar bowhunt for a few days, at reasonable rates, while your wife basks in the sun at Old Town (an ancient harbor in the middle of Antalya). Some of the historical sites in the area are breathtaking. The Turks were some of the finest archers in the world and the bow collections in the war rooms of the Odomen castles are something to see. Additionally, some of the finest examples or Roman architecture is still standing. In fact this is the main holiday location for most of NW Europeans. Because of this, try to stay away during August (vacation month for most Europeans).
