Bowhunting Gobi Ibex in Mongolia
This bowhunt takes place in the interior mountain ranges of the Gobi desert in southern Mongolia. Most conveniently accessed through Beijing, China, the arrival city is the capital of Mongolia—Ulaanbaatar. From there clients either fly or drive to the area. It is 1.5 hours by plane but on a limited schedule otherwise it is 12 hours drive by vehicle. Accommodations will be either Yurts or Hotel in small village. There may be the occasional overnight spike camping as well, depending on the area hunted.
This bowhunt will be conducted with local guides who have some previous bowhunting experience (although limited) together with the main guide / interpreter. The Ibex are found in limited mountain ranges where the climbing is limited to about 2000 feet of elevation. Sometimes horses are available to assist in the hunt.
